To establish Promethean as the global leader in interactive displays and teaching software today, the dedication of its founder, Tonny Cann, is paramount. He is celebrated for his deep passion for education and his noble mission: “I must improve education. There are so many children out there who have not reached their full potential. It’s such a waste.”
Founder Tonny Cann was born in 1939 in England and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester.

He is celebrated for his deep passion for education and his noble mission: “I must improve education. There are so many children out there who have not reached their full potential. Founder Tonny Cann was born in 1939 in England and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester.
Since 1990, when he became the Chairman of the East Lancashire Business and Training Council, he began to focus significantly on education.
“I have a crazy belief that we don’t nearly develop the potential of our young people.”
“Loads of kids are turned out of school and basically they are not properly taught. Now, many are, but many are not, especially in the bottom third, and we need to do something about it.” The globally renowned Promethean teaching and learning technology products were born from these concerns and aspirations of Tonny Cann.
To date, Promethean’s educational solutions are used in nearly 3 million classrooms worldwide and have been ranked as the global market leader in educational solutions for several years (2017-2025).

Simon has spearheaded industry-leading IT and telecommunications giants in the Asia Pacific region for over 30 years such as Motorola Asia Pacific Limited, Microsoft’s Greater China Region.
Simon’s prevalence as an advisor to the Richard Ivey School of Business at the Western University, Canada, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Upper Canada College
Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts under Faculty of Science from Western University, Canada, Business Administration Doctorate from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
He becomes Vice Chairman of NetDragon Websoft Inc. and CEO of Huayu Education Technology in March 2015
Vin Riera joined Promethean in January of 2017. Vin is an experienced global executive who is passionate about technology and education and a highly respected leader across multiple disciplines.
He most recently served as Director and CEO of Collegis Education and Director and CEO of Edmentum, a leader in software curriculum and assessment solutions.
He is a graduate of Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts with a BS Degree in Business Administration.
